About The Image
This image shows part of the art installation Another Place which is located on Crosby Beach in Merseyside. The installation was designed by Anthony Gormley and is made up of a number of identical statues looking out to sea.
The image was taken just before sunset and is an HDR shot combining multiple different exposures to capture detail in both highlight and shadow areas. As I was composing the image, I saw the ship sailing out of Liverpool, so waited until it was directly under the sun.
I used it in club competitions during my first season at LSAPS, and when I started entering BPE exhibitions towards the end of 2017 it was included in my very first exhibition entry. Whilst it failed to gain an acceptance on that first entry, it was one of my first two images to gain an acceptance in a subsequent exhibition. Sadly, it only managed that single acceptance in BPE's.
When I started entering International Exhibitions, it was one of the first images that I tried out, and it proved more successful in International Exhibitions.
