Faroe Islands – 2016
Towards the end of May 2026 we had a 2 week self driving holiday to the Faroe Islands. We flew out from Edinburgh Airport to Vagar Airport on 21st May, and picked up a hire car for our stay. Our itinerary took us to most of the main islands in the archipelago:-
- Vagar – 3 nights staying just outside of Sorvagur, close to the airport.
- Streymoy – 3 nights staying just outside of Torshavn.
- Bordoy – 3 nights staying in Laksvik
- Eysturoy – 3 nights staying in Gjov
- Streymoy – 1 might staying in Torshavn

The map below shows all our overnight locations. The total driving distance between all locations was 750 miles, though obviously we drove additional miles on days when we were not travelling between stops.
