About The Image
This image of Elterwater in the Lake District was one of a trio of images that I first entered in January 2018 that would go on to achieve multiple acceptances in exhibitions. It was taken in December 2017 during a short break in the Lake District. It is a long exposure image at 20 seconds exposure time, taken late in the afternoon, when the low winter sun had already set behind the hills where I was standing, but was still lighting the far shore in golden light. A little snow on the Langdale Fells helps to lift the scene. and provides a distant focal point for the image.
Early in my BPE career, I persisted in entering successful images, so the 9 acceptances were achieved after 20 entries (meaning I tried it in some BPE exhibitions more than once). Later, when entering International exhibitions it gained just 2 acceptances before I decided to retire it.
