About The Image

In January 2016 we went on a day visit to the Yorkshire Dales to do the waterfall walk at Ingleton. At the top of the walk it is possible to climb higher onto Twistleton Scar for a view of Ingleborough, and as I had seen pictures of the lone tree there, I was keen to visit it. We were fortunate that there was a bit of snow about which adds to the atmosphere of the image.

Later that year, after joining LSAPS, I entered a different picture from that day into club competitions, but after processing this image in Mono, I realised that this was the better image. It was one of a trio of images in my 'second batch' of exhibition entries in early 2018 that went on to achieve multiple acceptances and awards in both BPE and International exhibitions, so it remains one of my top 20 most successful exhibition images.
