In late January 2019 we visited Yellowstone in winter. We had previously visited in the summer of 2010, but wanted to experience the park in winter. Travel through Yellowstone in winter is only possible on an arranged tour, and we booked a week’s Wildlife based tour with American Adventures. When we organised flights, we were routed through Chicago on the way out and New York on the return, so we decided to add a few nights in each city to expand the holiday up to a full 2 weeks.
Our full itinerary for the holiday was:-

- Bozeman, Montana – 2 nights
- Chico Hot Springs – 2 nights
- Old Failthful – 3 nights
- Bozeman – 1 night
- New York – 3 nights
