Day 3 – Boothbay Harbour, Maine
This morning we picked up a hire car in Boston and drove the 165 miles to our next stop at Boothbay Harbour on the Maine coast. The weather was mostly overcast, so there were no opportunities for photo stops, but we did stop for lunch at Kittery just after crossing the state border into Maine. In the evening after we arrived at Boothbay Harbour the weather improved, so we went for a stroll to explore and take some evening pictures.
Boothbay Harbour is a small coastal resort village situated on the west side of a sheltered bay on the Boothbay peninsula. The most interesting feature in the village is a footbridge across the bay with an old house called the Bridge House part way across.

There are also plenty of jetties and boats, giving lots of photo opportunities, especially as we began to get a bit of colour in the evening sky.

Our accommodation in Boothbay was the Inn at Greenleaf Drive, a grand New England house which was close to the village centre, with pleasant views across the bay.
